Promises Promises

Given that NYE, that great prompter of resolutions and promises, is just days away the time seems right to review and revise the past year. Lets start with Blog entries, this will make 3....for the year..sighhhh.  I hate breaking a promise, in fact the only promises I ever break are the ones I've made to myself . It's so disappointing and I've done it again. Last year I promised to do an act of artistic creativity each and every day. I also promised that I would actively promote my art and craft work and an ardent blogger be. My daughters would describe it as an epic FAIL. I have books half baked, paintings half started. My drawing table is piled high with every bit of 'stuff' that has no official home and my painting studio is inhabited by frightening creatures. I have lost my sewing machine to a sea of fabric but my many baskets of wool are ship shape. All this while chastising my daughters for not being better organised and I wonder why that lecture fell on deaf ears. I guess you might guess what I am about to profess, a BIG ditto on last years new years resolution and yes, I was just on the verge of giving the Brownie salute and solemnly swearing. BUT I am another year older and therefore wiser so instead I will promise to not make promises to myself that I can't possibly keep. What I will promise is to have a really good crack at it and renew the promise I made 40 years ago as a Brownie (junior girl guide) and that is, 'to always do my best'. Wish me luck!

Monday 12th March

Tin flowers
YAY a public holiday, I got to have Sunday all over again. It was a beautiful autumn day here and the sun shone right through the shed door. I had been wanting to have a go at making some tin flowers for a project I have in mind. I spent an hour or so in my shed and this is the result. I think I can do better but was I happy for a first try. Speaking of first try's, this is my first go at writing a blog entry, a learning curve to be sure. I'm not sure how it's going to look so I apologise now if it's rubbish, and I promise to do better next time.
